Not only does this supremely high turnover rate affect the morale and functionality of the hospitals, but it also leads to large financial losses for the hospitals themselves. From the same report, “Each percent change in RN turnover will cost/save the average hospital an additional $262,300/yr.”. Hospitals are having an increasingly difficult time recruiting and maintaining staff.
